Don’t miss “Chasing Ice” from the producer of Academy-Award winning “The Cove”

Posted by    |   September 6th, 2012   |   No responses

Sometimes we get to work on something uber cool. This is one of those times. Last week, we launched a new website for Chasing Ice, an award-winning documentary film that tells the story of National Geographic photographer James Balog's mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of the Earth's changing climate. Balog and a band of young adventurers deployed revolutionary time-lapse cameras across the brutal Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world's disappearing glaciers. The film -- filled with hauntingly beautiful videos that compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they vanish at a breathtaking rate -- has won some of the most impressive awards in the movie business, including the Sundance Film Festival's Excellence in Cinematography Award. The trailer was just released yesterday. Watch it here. And be sure to see Chasing Ice on the big screen if you can. It premieres in a dozen cities in November with more showings to come. See the schedule here.

So proud of our client Olympians

Posted by    |   July 27th, 2012   |   No responses

We at Insight Designs love the Olympics. Who doesn't? But we're particularly excited for the 2012 Olympics. With more than a dozen clients competing, we feel like we have a little skin in the game. American cyclist, Boulder native and Insight Designs client Taylor Phinney is going for Gold in the Men's Road Race on Saturday and again in the Men's Individual Time Trial on Wednesday. Team Garmin-Sharp-Barracuda has a slew of team members competing for various countries in the cycling events as well. Among them, David Millar will be on Great Britain's team of 5 in the Men's Road Race. Boulder Wave, a Boulder company that trains, manages and represents elite runners from around the world, has at least 9 runners competing in these Olympic Games. In the Women's Marathon on Sunday, watch for Constantina Dita (reigning Olympic champion from Romania); Lidia Simon (2000 Olympic silver medalist from Romania and the first woman in Olympic history to race five Olympic marathons); Edna Kiplagat (reigning World Champion from Kenya); Rene Kalmer (South Africa); Irvette van Blerk (South Africa); Diane Nukuri Johnson (Burundi); and Yoshimi Ozaki (Japan). Lee Merrien (UK) will run in Sunday's Men's Marathon. And Kayoko Fukushi (Japan) will compete in both the Women's 5000m and 10,000m. We also just launched a site this week for Make A Hero, a non-profit that aims to improve the lives of people with disabilities by helping them get involved in sports. Make A Hero will be featured in commercials throughout the Olympics. Keep an eye out for their commercial on NBC between 6 and 10 pm MST Sunday.

Thanks for making us fork over $10K for kids with cancer!

Posted by    |   June 1st, 2012   |   No responses

Thanks to all of you who've contributed to our Courage Classic fundraising effort. Our team - A Cure Insight - reached a major milestone this week. We hit the $10,000 mark, which triggered a $10,000 matching donation from Insight Designs. We're so thrilled to be supporting Children's Hospital Colorado. And we're touched by the number of friends, clients and colleagues who are joining us in this effort. Our goal is to raise $50,000, the minimum required to be able to earmark the funding for a particular cause. We'd like our money to go to the oncology department, where my son Laird was treated for cancer last year. We're 41% of the way there with a total of $20,276 in donations. And once we hit $30,000, it will trigger another $10,000 match from my family. So if you haven't already donated, please consider doing so. Help us fund research to cure all kids with cancer! To give, go to: http://www.couragetours.com/2012/team/acureinsight - and click on any rider's name. Thanks so much!

So excited about the launch of The HUNT New York City! It's a stylish travel guide that tells a curated story about the most interesting and unique independent eating and shopping establishments in New York City. It takes you on a vibrant, visual journey through NYC's neighborhoods and helps you discover the local gems. We at Insight had the pleasure of designing this gorgeous app. We worked with Sue, Sam and the gang at TravelShark to create wireframes and define functionality. Our talented Ellie Childs created the sophisticated, simple, beautiful design. Then the folks at TS had their development crew make the app a reality. Great teamwork and a wonderful end result. Go ahead and download it. Just $1.99. Whether you live in NYC or are just visiting, you don't want to miss this. Be tempted.
